Hip Hop Nation (ch.67 on XM platform, ch.40 on Sirius platform, Direct TV ch.847) - Sundays 10pm et
^^^^And you thought your morning hangovers were bad? ^^^^
LA’s own DJ Z-Trip comes through Subsoniq this week to chop it up with KB and Sheils (of Pitch Control). Topics covered include how to make the airport your home, a possible album collaboration with instrumental metal/dub group “The Dub Trio”, what some of Z-Trip’s biggest challenges were (in terms of playing venues, gigs, and crowds), and just how involved he was with the Obama campaign. After a long weekend of turkey and heavy drinking, avoid the family and kick it with Subsoniq and Z-Trip this Sunday night.
Hip Hop Nation (ch.67 on XM platform, ch.40 on Sirius platform) - Sundays 10pm et
Subsoniq can now be heard on Sirius XM’s Hip Hop Nation. Our original time on RAW (ch.66 - R.I.P.) was 10pm-midnight et. We now takeover that timeslot again on the merged platform. We are excited to have the opportunity to continue to play the best of progressive hip hop over the satellites. While there are down sides (like losing our very short lived Tuesday 9am - 11am slot), we now get the chance to expose and promote progressive hip hop music to a wider audience. Expect the same approach and show/music philosphy from Subsoniq, we are now just on a different channel and at a different timeslot.
The above video spawned from on-air bet during Subsoniq in 2007 and features a basketball game between K-Murdock and Raw Poetic (who make up the group Panacea). DJ Deeper films and has commentary and KB refs. Be sure to check out the Air Ball Intermission uploaded as a different video on the youtube site http://www.youtube.com/subsoniqradio . Highlights in this video include the pre-game, halftime (at 4:50), the infamous spill (at 7:14) and the post-game (at 8:42)
Also available on the youtube site are a few video highlights from the Q-Tip interview that aired on Subsoniq last month. Look for more video highlights, audio treats, and an overall new visual element becoming an essential part of the show. Big thanks to PC, Deuce, and Alex for their hard work.
RAW ch.66 (Direct TV 846) Sunday 11/9 9pm et, Tuesday 11/11 9am et

We’ll be back next week with the full Subsoniq crew and lots of specials on the way….
Monday 11/10 10pm et, Tuesday 11/11 2pm et on (XMU ch.43, Direct TV 843)
How did Subsoniq start? Whose idea was it to include a progressive hip hop show on satellite radio? Who were the original hosts? Which channel originally threw major support behind the show and got it on the satellite platform? What early artists showed love to the show and helped the show get its feet? What role did it play in creating Panacea? All of this and much more are answered in this week’s show! Subsoniq welcomes one of the original creators of show (Josh aka J Kannizle) into the studio for an in-depth look at the history of the show, the music it supports, and what the future holds. Check it out this week exclusively on XMU (ch.43, Direct TV 843)!
Wed. 11/6 6pm et, Sunday 11/10 6pm et (The Rhyme ch.65 Direct TV 845)
Longtime Rhyme resident DJ Deeper is at the helm this week. Even though he will be mixing during the Subsoniq Classix timeslot, look for a lot of new gems from him in this week’s set. Its probably been a year or two since XMers have been able to hear a mix from Deeper, so we are really looking forward to seeing what he brings this week. Look for it exclusively on Subsoniq Classix. You can find more info and download links for Deeper’s mixes right here: http://www.myspace.com/djdeeper
